I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communication! I double majored in digital photography and motion design, but photography is the love of my life. A lot of the time I think, “I never needed a degree for this job,” but I learned a lot and wouldn’t have traded that experience for anything.
I love coffee, in all shapes and forms. Hot, iced, blended, chocolate covered beans, I want it all! I also love exploring new local coffee shops in my area, they are always so much better than a chain (although I do love Black Rock.)
I am such a child at heart. I love having tickle fights with my other half, watching old Disney movies, and spending the day at the park. Life’s more fun when you’re playing every day!
A Little More Detail…
I didn't really think of photography as anything more than getting family photos at JCPenney every few years. It was getting those cheap, Kodak disposable cameras from the convenience store before a road trip. It wasn't spectacular, it wasn't mind-blowing, it wasn't relevant to me except for the photos of my baby years in my mom's photo albums. I had sparked a vague interest in it in middle school when I would take my little point and shoot to concerts, but I never imagined it ever being what it is to me today. Photography now is much more than a job to me. This is what keeps me up at night - crazy compositions, new editing techniques, different poses to get people to better show off their love for each other.
I'm a complete, head over heels, totally hopeless romantic. Seeing people in love and the idea of spending your entire life with someone you just couldn't live without makes my heart smile. I've been in love with love for as long as I can remember and the thought of doing wedding photography just made sense. I've committed myself to learning to be the best photographer I can be to provide my couples access to the sweet, now tangible little moments that made their wedding day so special and perfect in all its chaos. It's about preserving those moments for the bride and groom, their children, and their children after that, and so on. Photographs are little bits of experiences, and being able to live through the good ones again and again is absolute magic to me - that's why I do this. It's become a part of me and I can't wait to share it with you.
